- I never expected to reach 30, but I passed that milestone a few years ago. I now never expect to reach 125.
- I'm a righty.
- I have one brother. He and his family live in Tampa.
- I have a neice and nephew.

I am pen pals with my niece.
- My parents also live in Tampa.
- Tampa is a great place to be from.
- I'm an ISTJ.
- I am a synesthete. I see colors when I hear music. This is one of the rarer versions of synesthesia, and it's even rarer for men. I first realized it was something special when I was about 15 and I told a friend a song sounded like the colors of cherries and he looked at me like I was crazy.
- I'm practical.
- I'm a dump truck, not a motorcycle.
- I think best when I'm alone.
- If I'm on time, I'm late.
- I must have routine.
- I love to read.
- My favorite author is John Gardner. The Grendel guy, not the James Bond guy.
- I also really like Terry Pratchett, Shakespeare, John Steinbeck, Shelby Foote, John Fowles, W. Somerset Maugham, Stanislaw Lem, P.G. Wodehouse, Algernon Blackwood and Thomas Hardy.
- I try to read Going the Distance by Dr. George Sheehan every year.
- When I was a kid my favorite book was The Swiss Family Robinson.
- I play the guitar... better than you expect but not as good as you think.
- When I was in high school, I played bass in a band called Guys Who Play Metal.
- My favorite musician is Randy Rhoads.
- My favorite band is Quiet Riot. Ask my mom if you don't believe me.
- I lift weights four times a week.
- I work with a personal trainer every week.
- I'm a trail runner.
- I love to hike.
- I love to kayak.
- I played soccer through high school.
- I don't dislike team sports, but I don't follow them all that closely.
- I'm not especially athletic.
- My grandmother grew up on the same farm as Secretariat. Her father was the manager.

My favorite trip (so far) was to New Mexico.

- One of them is Percy. He's my buddy. I think he has a little crush on me.

- When I was a teenager, I had a mullet. Hey, it was the '80s!
- The worst job I've had was as a dishwasher in a nursing home.

- When I was in college, I was the editor of The Mangrove Review, the English department's literary magazine.
- There is nothing better than cold watermelon on a hot day.
- Every morning for breakfast I have a chocolate-oatmeal-banana protein shake.
- William Shakespeare once helped me win a pair of B. B. King tickets. The contest was for the most original comment, and my entry was O for a blues of fire that would ascend the brightest heaven of invention.
- My favorite months are June and July.
- My favorite holiday is the 4th of July.
- I got an A in calculus.

- I'm not very competitve.
- I have never been married.

- My first memories are of Connecticut, where we lived for three years when I was a child.
- We moved back to the South because I came home from school one day talking like my teacher. My dad wasn't going to raise a Yankee.

- I've been to a casino only once. I bought some chips and walked around but couldn't figure out how to use them, so I turned them in and left.

- The only nickname I've ever had was Levi, which my 8th grade science teacher called me for a while because I always wore a denim jacket.
